Cylindrical vessel - Tank frame The tank container has two main parts: the cylindrical vessel depicted above left, and the tank frame to support and protect the cylinder.

Manlids - Manlid covers The manlids cover
the loading manholes on top of the tank container. Each manlid has
3 to 8 tightening clamps with swingbolts, depending on the size of the
manlid. The insulated
manlid covers avoid loss of temperature. They also offer space to
carry sample bottles, and keep the loading area clean and well
protected. Anti slip zones inside the manlid covers increase the operational safety. |

| Walkway
- Safety Handrails
Double walkways with cross sections around the manlid areas, and collapsible handrails covering the full length of the tank container allow safe access to the top of the tank for loading purposes. |

| Certificate
plate
Each tank container has a certificate plate. It can be located in different places, but usually the plate can be found in one of the bottom corners. The plate acts as a passport for the tank container, indicating significant data and recording the test period validity. |

| Bottom
discharge valve - Triple Closure
The bottom valves are being used to discharge the tank container. The construction of the inner footvalve prevents the tank container from leaking during a severe incident where all external valve segments would have been ripped off. The triple closure system ensures maximum safety during transport and discharge of the tank. Huktra adds a fourth closing device in the format of a swinging black flange which can replace the dust cap when required. |

Remote
control The remote control allows the driver and the operator to close each discharge valve from a protected and therefore safe location angle.

| Crashbar The crashbar protects the container against side impacts. It also expands the protection factor offered by the standard framework. Crash bars on both sides of the tank container are mounted on shock absorbing studs. |

Thermometer Digital thermometers improve the accuracy of temperature recording in transit. Left, you can see the location of the thermometer down right from the Huktra logo.

| Safety
valve - Safety relief The pressure safety valve is a two directionnal valve that releases the pressure inside the tank container when this exceeds the certified working pressure. It opens in the other direction to let in atmosphere air and pressure in case the tank container undergoes vacuum sucking beyond its certified maximum. |

| Labelholder The labelholders carry important information about the product inside the tank. The type of label differs between rail and shipping transports, and is regulated under International Law. |

| Document
Tube The sealed document tube carries papers concerning the transport action of the tank container (for example: the CMR document). For safety and extra protection, the document tube is located inside the discharge box (bottom-center on the picture left).
|
| Steam
trap - Steam relief valve The steam relief valve releases cooled down steam in the form of a mixture of humid hot air and water at the end of the steam coils, ensuring live hot steam continually replaces the cooled down steam. A properly functioning steam relief valve opens and closes in a continuous cyclus.

| Calibration
Chart The calibration chart is used to calculate the exact amount of product that is loaded into the tank, in liters. For example: there is only 20 cm of empty space remaining inside the tank (this is measured with the dipstick). A quick look on the calibration chart for this specific tank shows us that there is 30,130 Ltrs of product inside the tank. |

| Ladder
The ladder is used to get on top of the tank container, and is made of stainless steel. Better tank containers have specially designed ladders that ensure safe access:
